Nkandla, South Africa 2007
These pictures are from the three months I spent in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa between March and June of 2007. While in KZN I worked with a group of eight trainers who conducted workshops in their community to promote gender and human rights equality as a means of HIV/AIDS prevention. I also lived at the Sizanani Center and tutored some of our kids in English in the afternoons. It is an experience that is hard to express with words - I hope these pictures help to tell the story of the amazing souls I was privelaged to meet and work with.
For more info on the organization I visited on behalf of, visit http://www.theafricaproject.com. Pictures taken between March 20 and May 23 in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. At some point I should go through and edit these so there's not so many - but that's too big of a project for now!
